Making our valley even greener

  • The wind turbine in the top field
  • Solar panels and stacked wood fuel

Coombe Park is located near the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We're committed to reducing our environmental impact so the landscape can be enjoyed by generations to come.

Here are some of the things we're doing as part of our environmental policy:

  • Our 6 kW wind turbine provides us with zero-carbon electricity and the excess is fed back into the grid.
  • Solar panels on the roof reduce our reliance on fossil fuels for heating. Additional solar panels heat our swimming pool, which should make your early-morning dip even more rewarding.
  • A wood-burning stove supplies some of our space heating in winter. Windfall timber from our wood provides the fuel for this stove.
  • Whenever possible, we buy only local produce. For instance, our breakfast bacon and eggs are free-range products from local farms.
  • We use environmentally friendly cleaning products.
  • Even our website is hosted on a solar-powered web server.
